Privacy Policy

Marketplace Direct Limited respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information when you visit this website, contact our recruitment team or take part in our recruitment and onboarding process. We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Marketplace Direct Limited is the data controller for the personal information covered by this policy.

Company No. 09608670
167-169 Great Portland Street, London, England, W1W 5PF
Email: recruitment@marketplacedirect.uk

2. Information we may collect

  • Contact details, including your name, email address, telephone number and country.
  • Application information, work history, skills, availability and messages you send us.
  • Identity and eligibility information where genuinely required for a role, company appointment, right-to-work check, KYC or platform verification.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information and basic server logs.

Please do not send passwords, PINs, CVVs or one-time security codes. We will never ask for them.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and communicate with you.
  • To assess suitability and manage recruitment, onboarding and related checks.
  • To verify identity, eligibility or company information when legally or operationally required.
  • To prevent fraud, protect candidates and maintain the security of our services.
  • To meet legal, regulatory, accounting and record-keeping obligations.

4. Our lawful bases

Depending on the circumstances, we rely on steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective recruitment process, or your consent. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

5. Sharing your information

We only share personal information where necessary. Recipients may include authorised staff and contractors, recruitment or communication providers, identity and KYC providers, professional advisers, regulators, Companies House, and relevant third-party platforms used for a specific opportunity. We do not sell your personal information.

6. International transfers

Some service providers or platforms may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.

7. How long we keep information

We keep recruitment information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected. Unsuccessful applicant records are normally retained for up to six months after the recruitment process ends, unless you agree to a longer talent-pool period or a legal requirement applies. Successful applicant, contractual, verification and financial records may be kept longer where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Information is then securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. When an official platform offers direct identity verification, we may ask you to submit information directly to that platform rather than sending documents through general messaging services.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, object to processing, receive portable data, or withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be subject to a solely automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect. We do not currently make recruitment decisions solely by automated means.

10. Website data and external links

We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies on this page. Our hosting provider may process basic technical logs needed to deliver and secure the website. Links to WhatsApp, Companies House or other third-party services are governed by those providers’ own privacy policies.

11. Contact and complaints

To ask a privacy question or exercise your rights, email recruitment@marketplacedirect.uk. Please write “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The latest version will be posted here with a revised date.
